Intex FitRist Pulzz

The Intex FitRist Pulzz will be available exclusively via Flipkart, and is priced at Rs. 1,799.

At the onset, the band sees an upgrade to a smooth black rubber-made changeable strap, instead of the rippled band seen on the predecessor. Intex also adds a heart rate sensor this time. The FitRist Pulzz fitness band features an 0.66-inch touch-enabled Oled digital display (64x48 pixels). Apart from heart rate monitoring, it also allows users to monitor step count, calories, distance covered, and sleep.

It supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and pairs up with The Smartphone to give incoming call alerts, SMS alerts, WhatsApp notifications, and even Facebook notifications. It also gives access to the mp3 player on the smartphone to change tracks while working out. Furthermore, there is a remote shutter feature that allows users to click pictures on their smartphone from a far off distance.APARTfrom the normal alarm, there is also a hydration alarm feature on the FitRist Pulzz reminding users to drink water regularly amid workouts.

The Intex FitRist Pulzz is compatible with Android and iPhone devices (running above Android 4.4 KitKat and iOS 7). It offers 32KB RAM, 256KB ROM, and features IPX 66 certified water resistance (splash proof and protects from rain).

It packs an 80mAh battery that takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to fully charge. Intex claims that the battery can last up to 7 days of usage. The band's dimensions measure 23.8x12.3x138 - 197mm, and it weighs in at 28.6 grams. As of now, the Intex FitRist Pulzz is only available in Black colour option, and is offering an extra strap for free with every purchase.

Xiaomi Mi Band 2

Design
The Mi Band 2, like its predecessor, has two components - a capsule and a band. The band is made of a rubber-like material that is very comfortable. We wore it for just over a week, taking it off for only around half an hour each day and faced no problems. The clasp popped open once during this period, during a crowded train ride. By and large, we found the band to be comfortable and secure.The Xiaomi Mi Band 2's capsule fits snugly into the band and not once did we worry that it might fall out. The capsule has its display on the top, with a big circular button that lets you check stats such as the number of steps you've taken, the distance you've covered, the calories you've burned, etc. The button worked flawlessly during our test period. The base of the capsule has the heart rate sensor, which protrudes a bit and tended to dig into our skin. You can't get a heart rate reading unless the sensor is pressed snugly against your skin. The edges of the sensor kept digging into our forearms, and left a red mark on our skin after a few hours. That was our only problem with the Mi Band 2's design.

Performance
We compared the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 against the built-in step tracker on our iPhone 5s for the duration of our review. We also checked it against a treadmill for additional verification. On average, the Mi Band showed 300 steps more than our iPhone 5s each day when we had walked around 10,000 steps. Part of this is due to factors such as us leaving the phone somewhere while still wearing the band. We ran 4km on a treadmill and found that the Mi Band 2 showed the distance covered as 4.09km. Both of these deviations are more than acceptable, and much better than we've seen in most bands.

The Mi Band 2 also features automatic sleep tracking, which triggered itself fairly accurately. Sleep tracking and heart rate sensing are two features that not everyone needs, but for those who are interested, we found that they work as expected.

If you want a band that vibrates when you get calls, texts, and app notifications, then the Mi Band 2 is a good purchase. All of these features worked well, although you might find this distracting if you often receive a lot of alerts. We disabled WhatsApp notifications for this reason. The Mi Band 2 also lets you set alarms and wakes you up with a discrete buzz. This is one of its most useful features, and we're happy to report that it worked well. If you hate loud alarms or don't want to disturb others sleeping in the same room, silent alarms are just great.All alerts can be configured via the Mi Fit app, which is slick and worked fine in our experience. The sign up/ sign in process could use a lot of improvement though - it's still not intuitive and we had to force-quit it once to get it to let us sign in. The app shows basic data such as steps/ distance covered and sleep time pretty well, but we found ourselves wishing for more granular information and insights such as the times of day that we were the most active. If you're happy with just basic amounts of data, then you will have no issues with the app.

The Mi Band 2's battery life is exceptional. After eight days of use, the battery reported that it was still 75 percent full. The device needs a proprietary charger, which could be a problem if you lose it or forget to carry it with you.

Verdict
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is a reliable activity tracker with a heart rate sensor. The Mi Band 2 has not officially launched in India yet, though it's available in Xiaomi's homeland at 149 CNY. If the India price is around Rs. 2,000 or lower, it will be well worth the amount. The only real problem we had with this product was that the edges of the heart rate sensor forced us to wear it a little looser than we would have liked, so be aware of that potential problem if you need a fitness tracker that you can wear all day

Titan Juxt Pro Smartwatch

The Juxt Pro is constructed with an all-metal body and has flat buttons on the side. It sports a 1.3-inch (360x360 pixels) IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 278ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Like the Juxt, the Pro version is water resistant up to 30 metres of water. The Juxt Pro is 49.5x50.2x15.2mm in dimensions, making it thicker than the Juxt. It features Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity.

The smartwatch can pair with Android (version 4.4 and above) and iOS (version 8 and above) devices through the Titan Juxt app and Bluetooth. The Juxt Pro comes preloaded with 20 watch faces to choose from, and also supports Bluetooth headphones.

The Juxt Pro is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Intel processor along with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage. It sports a 450mAh battery.

The Titan Juxt Pro displays smartphone notifications like messages and email and allows you to answer calls as well. Other features include a built-in music app that lets you store music, a camera app that lets you take smartphone pictures from your watch, fitness, calendar, timer and sensors like accelerometer and gyroscope, among other things. For fitness, the smartwatch can track steps, distance walked, and calories burnt

The Juxt Pro is also big on safety, Titan claims. Installing the Titan Safety app on the paired Android or iOS device will help your emergency contact to track your location. Long-pressing the button on the watch will send your location and an emergency call to the registered emergency contact.

Other features include a weather forecast, a Find My Phone feature, and a converter for quick conversions across units.

Titan on Thursday launched it in India at Rs. 22,995. It is available in Black and Silver case options, both of which ship with Black straps. The Titan Juxt Pro smartwatch will be available online via FLIPKART, and offline at select Titan stores apart from certain electronic retail stores.

The Juxt Pro is the elder sibling of the Juxt that was launched at Rs. 15,995 in January in partnership with HP. Unlike many other smartwatches these days, the Juxt was primarily designed as a regular watch with just a touch of smartness for the current generation. The Juxt Pro, however, is more akin to the likes of Samsung Gear S2  with a full, rounded touchscreen display.
